Carolina Day Wins Holiday Classic, UNCA Women Drop Heartbreaker (12-29-12)

Carolina Day defends its WNC Holiday Classic Championship with a 67-35 win over Asheville Christian Academy in the title game at Kimmel Arena. The Wildcats were  led by Haley Laughter's 18 points and Allison Beasley's 17.


In women's college basketball at Kimmel Arena, UNCA gets 20 points from sophomore guard Shonese Jones but falls short in a conference matchup with High Point, 58-57. UNCA had two chances to win it but a couple of shots were missed in the closing seconds. UNCA drops to 0-2 in Big South play.
