Enka was in both MAC 3A finals in their home gym. The Jets went 1 for 2. The 4th seeded girls upset defending champs and 2nd seed Erwin 45-44 to claim the championship. Enka boys going for their second straight title, but were defeated by regular season champs Asheville 68-64.
Another prep signing in the mountains Friday. North Buncombe distance runner Katarina Ruehl gets a scholarship to run track at Western Carolina.
