Pisgah's girls basketball team advances to its first regional final in over 20 years. The Sugar Bears whipped second seed Bandys 57-45 and play Thomasville for the 2A West regional championship Saturday at 3:30 at Fleming Gym on the UNC-Greensboro campus.
Former Franklin star and current Western Carolina freshman Lindsay Simpson makes the Southern Conference All-Freshman team.
Tuccoa Brackett who starred at McDowell is doing the same thing at Brevard College. She was named South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year and was named 2nd team all conference too.
