A major honor for Swain County's Matthew Maennle, as the senior wide receiver is one of only 28 players in North Carolina to be named to the Associated Press Prep Football All-State Team.
Hours after getting the honor, Maennle scored 19 points to help the Maroon Devils surge past East Henderson in the second half of an 81-49 win. Greg Tisho led the way with 28 points.
Another day at the office for the Eagles' Stephanie Smith, as she nets 28 of her team's 43 points as East Henderson salvages a split with Swain.
