Asheville freshman Damon Scott scores the winning bucket with one second left to give the Cougars a 63-62 upset win over 11-2 Tuscola in the title game of the Tuscola Holiday Classic.
The Mountain Heritage s won the girls side of this classic 77-61 over Tuscola. Samm Chandler led the Cougars with 30. Mountain Heritage is now 11-0.
In the WNC Holiday Classic, defending girls champ, Carolina Day pulls away in the thrid quarter to beat Belton-Honea Path in the semis 67-41. The Wildcats play for the title Saturday at 7 pm at Kimmel Arena.Madison crushes Masters Academy in a consolation game 61-21.
