Smoky Mountain and Pisgah win the titles on WNCA Championship night in Waynesville. Second seed Smoky Mountain won the boys championship with a 65-56 upset of top seed Tuscola.In girls play, top seeded Pisgah girls never headed in their 65-42 victory over third seed Franklin.
UNCA's baseball home opener postponed. The 1-2 Bulldogs were set to take on Canisius Friday but the threat of bad weather forced the postponement. The Dogs will host Canisius Saturday at noon and the clubs will wrap their series up with a Sunday doubleheader, also starting at noon at Greenwood Field.
