David McKinney rushed home when word of the fire
spread. He got to his neighborhood, but
couldn't get to his house. He could only
hope for the best.
"If I could just see it. It's hard being
down here at the bottom of the hill not knowing what's going on up there," said McKinney.
Early on the firemen knew the fire damaged 5 homes.
McKinney wondered if his house was one of them.
Still, he hoped.
Later, he was able to walk up to his home. It was still there, but the fire crept closer.
They sent a fire truck up to watch his house. The flames were less than 200 feet away.
He grabbed medicine and some photos, hoping the situation
wouldn't get worse.
He sat, Hoping the fire didn't reach his home off of Bright Hope Rd.
