Asheville High Band Prepares For Inauguration

For Asheville High School band director Will Talley, it's like getting his team ready for the Super Bowl.

"You try to think of what the students need. Right now, I think it's a lot of repetition," says Talley, who's band will be headed to the Presidential Inauguration festivities.

The group will leave for Washington, D.C. on Friday at 4 AM. They'll do some sightseeing that day. Saturday the band will perform in the Inauguration Festival. Monday, they'll play along the parade route that takes them right past President Barack Obama.

"I'm gonna call you out and i hope it doesn't upset you," Talley told the band at rehearsal today. "Actually I don't care, I'd rather me be upset than the President. "

The trip has been fueled by a big fundraising effort and will cost about $90,000.
