City Council Votes To Demolish Ice House
Asheville City Council votes to demolish a landmark in the River Arts District.
The decision Tuesday night involved whether to save or destroy a rundown building known as the Ice House. The aging structure was the scene of a murder last year and has fallen into disrepair.
Council also approved funds for the demolition. The old smokestack on the property will be preserved.
