Mars Hill Mudslide Narrowly Misses Home
A Madison County woman had a very close call Tuesday as heavy rain triggered a mudslide that came within just a few feet of slamming into her home. It happened on Red Fox Den Road in Mars Hill.
Debra Rockett's home sits right below a very steep hillside. At about 4 p.m., her dog Karma started reacting to something going on outside. That brought Debra to the back of the house and she saw the trees and mud come down into her yard.
No one was hurt and the slide stopped just short of damaging the home.
