We Do Campaign
Dozens of gay and lesbian couples march on Greenville county court this morning, requesting marriage licenses.
The protest was organized by the Asheville-based Campaign for Southern Equality.
In all six same-sex couples applied for marriage licenses this morning, all were denied.
They were joined by about a hundred folks marching here on the county building as a show of solidarity.
The effort part of a nationwide campaign, primarily in the south, to highlight what these couples say is discrimination against gays and lesbians.
At 3 p.m. today the group will lead more same sex couples to Asheville to demand marriage licenses there.
News 13 will be there and we'll have a live report.
