Three Pit Bulls Attack Upstate Woman

A pit bull attack leaves an Upstate woman fighting for her life.

Police responded to a neighbor's call on South Central Street in Spartanburg County around 2 a.m. Wednesday. Deputies found Dreama Rice pinned under three dogs. Officers were forced to shoot and kill one of the dogs before they could help her. The other two ran away.

Rice was taken to the hospital with bites to the face, abdomen, arms and legs.

Animal Control officers later captured the other two pit bulls. They’re in quarantine at the humane society.

The dogs' owner, Ray Williams, says he kept them in a fenced lot and they must have escaped. Williams says he’s worried about Rice and the critical wounds she received.

Animal Control officers cited Williams for failure to provide rabies vaccinations to his dogs.  He could face additional charges For keeping dangerous animals and allowing them to run free.
