Sister of Teen Murder Suspect Speaks
The accused killers of 19-year-old Dylan Roseboom went before a Buncombe County judge Tuesday. 17-year-old Gavin Geisler and 19-year-old Brandon Allen face first degree murder, burglary, and gun theft charges. 22-year-old Chad Salvatto was charged as an accessory after the fact.
Moments after the court hearing News 13's Mario Boone spoke to Allen's younger sister, Christian Fox, about his involvement. "My mom, she's pretty torn up about it," she said. "Brandon does have mental disabilities and I really don't think he was capable of killing him."
But Fox admits her brother had a beef with the victim. "There were problems with them but I didn't know if they had fought," said Fox.
Fox believes Allen might have been coerced into participating in the killing because he's mentally disabled, according to Fox.
"See, Brandon, he's very easily talked into doing things."
Investigators haven't given a motive in the killing. Calls to Geisler's home weren't answered, and Salvatto's dad had no comment.
When asked what she'd like to say to the family of Roseboom Fox replied, "that I'm really sorry, and I can't imagine what they're going through."
All three suspects are due back to court in February.
