Online Threats Lead To McDowell Co. Lockdown
McDowell County Sheriff's deputies and Marion Police swarmed McDowell High Monday morning.
No weapons were found in the investigation.
Authorities say the source of concern that led to the 30-minute lockdown might be a sign of the times. Investigators were responding to what appeared to be threats made online.
"You don't want to turn a blind eye," says Chief Deputy Ricky Buchanan. "You want to investigate any and all allegations.
"I think that any threat should get everybody's attention," says Phillip Ogle, at school to pick up his grand daughter. "We don't want something to happen here like what happened in Connecticut and it very well could."
