Inmate Search Continues
The search continues this midday for two inmates who escaped from the Madison County jail last night.
Investigators say the pair hopped a fence and ran away.
They're looking for Jonathan Motte and Joseph Norton, both awaiting trial on felony burglary charges.
Deputies say, just after 8pm Wednesday night, the pair went over a fence at the jail and fled the area on foot.
They have issued warrants for both men on charges of "escape from a county confinement facility".
Motte was originally arrested last March for stealing a car and burglary.
Norton was arrested last month on charges of burglary and possesion of a firearm by a felon.
Deputies tell us they are in the middle of a search and have no further comment right now.
Residents we spoke with are wondering what happened at their new, $9.6 million jail.
Ricky Robinson, Madison County resident, "I thought it was supposed to be a high, sophisticated jail, and it makes you wonder if anybody was in the guard tower last night, watching them all, because they're supposed to have cameras all the way around it, I thought."
Motte was being held on a $75,000 bond, Norton on a $35,000 bond.
