Baby Death Investigation

A mother in Madison County is scheduled to make a first court appearance on a murder charge in connection with the death of her 6-month-old daughter today. 

We're also learning new details about the mom, Brandi Cochran, and how baby Kali might have died.

Investigators believe Brandi Cochran shook her six month old baby girl to death.

That must still be confirmed through an autopsy later today.
We've also learned Brandi has another young child, but there doesn't appear to be a history of abuse or DSS involvement, according to sources.

News 13 broke this tragic story this weekend after we learned baby Kali died at Children's Hospital in Knoxville Friday.

Detectives plan to conduct more interviews of witnesses today.
