Fans 'Kickstart' Asheville Band's Recording

Music trio "Underhill Rose" finally has the opportunity they've been waiting for. They're recording original songs at Echo Mountain recording studio.

They say the dream couldn't have happened without the support of fans who pledged to help them online.

The band turned to the "Kickstarter" web site with a goal of raising $15,000 to have enough cash to put out a CD.

Instead, they raised more than $18,000.  Those who gave money get a CD or even a house concert depending on how much they contributed.

"Far more people than we thought would support us did," says band member Molly Rose Reed. "People came out of the woodwork for us and that is something I'm really grateful for. "

"Underhill Rose" features music with elements of country and soul.

Their CD will be released May 31st. Songs can also be downloaded at the iTunes store.
