Good Samaritan Rescue
A woman credits a Good Samaritan with saving her life after a violent motorcycle accident over the weekend.
The crash happened on I-40 near the Farmer's Market. Amanda Smith says a car swerved toward them, forcing her husband Chris, to make a sharp turn. He lost control of the motorcycle, tossing them into the highway. She says Joe Dellinger stopped and ran to help.
Amanda spoke to News 13 from the trauma unit at Mission Hospital, where our video cameras are not allowed, as she greeted the man she says risked his life to save theirs. "I'm so grateful for him, and he's part of our family now, and he will be a part of our family," she says.
"They were sitting up, but they were in the interstate, and quickly, you're thinking, wow, all three of us could get hit," says Dellinger.
Chris underwent surgery Wednesday for a broken wrist. Both Amanda and Chris are expected to recover.
