Pet Food Drive

You can help make a real difference in saving pets around the community.

The Asheville Area Pet Sitters Association is kicking off a month-long pet food drive, with barrels set up at locations all over town. Those include Patton Avenue Pet Company, The Tailgate Market, and the Universal Joint. All the food goes toward Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, which has about 600 animals to feed.

"There's such a need in this area and a lot of times if you don't have time to volunteer with these organizations, we can all give a little bit for the dogs and cats in need and it's just a great way, you'll feel really good about doing it," says Krysta Kirsch with Area Pet Sitters Association.

The main event happens August 15th, when the Pet Sitters and Pet Gazette Magazine are hosting Dog Days of Summer, at Universal Joint. You can bring your dogs, hang out and donate some food at the same time.
