Maggie Valley Welcomes Hillbilly Woodstock
It's not 1969, but the Hillbilly Woodstock is camping out at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. Thousands are on hand for the event that will run Friday through Saturday night.
It features live country and bluegrass music, food, and fun for the whole family, including descendants of the infamous Hatfield's and McCoy's. Rising Nashville singer Kaitlyn Baker will perform Saturday.
"Got all the moonshiners. Got Big Juicy on "Lizard Lick Towing" coming tomorrow. Great bands. Got about 18 to 19 bands for the two days. Sugarland Distillery from Gatlinburg is with us," says organizer Terry Frady.
Hillbilly Woodstock runs until 11 Friday night, and from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Saturday at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds. Tickets are $6 per day, or $10 for both days.
