New Traffic Pattern at Asheville Middle School
Today, the school bells will ring for Asheville City Schools and the new school year will bring a change that will impact more than just the students.
Parents and people driving near Asheville Middle School on South French Broad Avenue will notice a traffic pattern change. The school made the change to accommodate the continuing construction on the new middle school.
Starting today, car rider drop-off and pickup will be in the former bus alley. Bus riders will be dropped off and picked up in front of the building.
Charlie Glazener, Executive Director for Communications and Community Relations for Asheville City Schools says they worked the City Traffic Engineer to minimize the congestion issues. But he says people in the neighborhood should expect more congestion than in the past. The school is asking everyone for patience.
The new middle school construction is set to wrap up in the Summer of 2016.
