Dusty Project in West Asheville
Repairs to a West Asheville road are creating a dirty mess this week.
Residents like Ken Ingle spent the afternoon cleaning up his property.
"If you would have been here yesterday and today you couldn't even see my house," Ingle said. "You couldn't even see that flag hanging there."
For the last two days, city crews have been brooming Vermont Avenue. Robert Kun, project manager, says the dust now will be worth it later.
"We understand that it's messy, but once again, in the end we'll have a good product and everyone will be happy with it," Kun said.
The project is prepping the street for a new layer of asphalt.
Officials warned residents the work would create unavoidable dust.
The project should wrap up by the end of this week or the beginning of the next.
