Police Investigate Dog Shooting
Sheriff's deputies arrested a Rutherford County woman, Tina Hendrix, Monday night and charged her with trespassing and property damage.
Hendrix who's neighbor admitted to News 13 he shot Hendrix's dog Bella, said she was only trying to keep her neighbor from shooting her dog Bella, who had had already shot once.
The neighbor who asked News 13 not to reveal his identity said he regretfully shot the dog in self-defense.
He said the dog had been to his house the day prior and he felt his family including two children playing out front were in danger.
The case is under investigation.
Hendrix has allowed her dogs to run free she said for years, but she felt it was unnecessary for her neighbor to shoot her dog intending to kill it.
She lost another dog in the same way several years ago.
Neither neighbor has a fenced in yard. Rutherford County officials continue to investigate the case.
