Repairs Force Splashville to Close
A popular place to cool off in Downtown Asheville is running dry.
The Splashville Fountain in Pack Square has been down for several weeks. The city says its motor and some underground valves need to be replaced.
That's leaving people like Amanda Chandler and her daughter who use the fountain for a little relief from the heat high and dry.
"My daughter's reaction wasn't too good," Chandler said. "She was like 'water!! No water!'"
Officials say they have ordered replacement parts, but it could be up to three weeks before they arrive and are installed.
