Triple Homicide Investigation
A terrifying afternoon in Henderson County as authorities search for a man who shot and killed three people in cold blood.
Authorities say 32-year-old Ralph Robert Warren III shot and killed three people on Piney Ridge Drive around 5 p.m. Wednesday. Warren's body was found after a three hour manhunt. Police say he died from a self inflicted gun shot wound.
When deputies arrived on scene the found three adults outside of the residence. All of them had been shot to death. Police say after Warren allegedly fired the shots, he jumped in a vehicle with his high powered rifle and took off. A short time later, his car was spotted off Howard Gap Road and Highway 25.
An entire community was under seige for hours as heavily armed police and SWAT teams searched for triple murder suspect. The search took officers from the shooting scene to an area off Howard Gap Road in Fletcher. That's where Warren's body was found.
It was a long, scary night for folks who live on Piney Mountain Rd. After hours of uncertainty and waiting, they were finally allowed to return home after the shooter was found dead. One man tells News 13 he lives right next door to where the shooting happened. He says the gun shots were so loud, he could feel his jacket vibrate.
Officers identify the victims as Carrie Tracy Warren, age 30, Theresa Russell Tracy, age 49 and Richard Allen Tracy, age 51. Carrie Warren was the daughter of Theresa and Richard Tracy and the spouse who was separated from the alleged shooter. As far as a motive to this shooting, Police say it may possibly be domestic related. Warren has been arrested on domestic violence charges in the past.
Authorities are still conducting interviews and processing several different crime scenes.
