Volunteer School Security In McDowell Co.
McDowell County adds school security without breaking the budget. Sheriff Dudley Greene is tapping into the pool of reserve deputies.
They'll help school resource officer Kevin Fineberg, who's responsible for six schools. The Sheriff has asked reserves to volunteer 8 hours a month to help guard schools.
"With the recent events in our nation the sheriff wanted to make our schools safer," says Fineberg. "We want to have the safest schools we can in McDowell County. "
Every reserve officer is certified and able to carry a gun, just like full-time deputies.
