Magic Becomes Therapy Dog
Remember Magic? He is now spreading his loving magic to everyone he meets as an official therapy dog. It's been nine months from his original rescue last August.
After a heartbreaking rescue and what caretakers say was likely years of neglect by his owners, the Asheville Humane Society's buoyant and bubbly rescue pup Magic finally found a home. Magic became the center of a local Humane Society campaign called "I Believe in Magic" after he was found this summer tethered outside a home caked in feces, urine and debris, severely matted and covered in maggots - but with an unbroken spirit.
A Candler couple adopted the sweet-tempered standard poodle. Magic's new home is on five acres with another rescued poodle named Marley.
The "I Believe in Magic" campaign is meant to call attention to the thousands of animals the Humane Society takes in locally every year that are still looking for homes.
