Catawba Valley Brewery Moving

Another new brewery plans to open in Asheville this summer.

Owners of Catawba Valley Brewing, based out of Morganton, unveiled plans to turn the old Rankin Patterson oil site into a boutique brewery.

The site is located in the Biltmore Village area on Fairview Road.

Cataba Valley is one of the first original breweries to open in Western North Carolina.

It's new location includes a tasting room, patio, and sever-barrel brewhouse.

There will also be some new, experimental brewing done on site.

Billy Pyatt, Catawba Valley Brewing, "this will become our secret lab as we do that.   So we'll experiment with sours, with big beers, with fruity beers, with barrel aged products, thing you don't really see a lot in mass distribution."

Billy says after final approval from the city, it will take between 60 to 90 days to get the new facility up and running.
