Robbinsville Explosion, Three Injured

Three men were burned in a propane tank explosion in Graham County. It happened about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at a Freeman Gas storage facility off Old Sweetwater Road near Robbinsville.

Sheriff Mickey Anderson says all three were employees of Freeman Gas. He identifies them as Scott Mason, Clint Depriest, and Ben Woodson. The sheriff says they had been working at the site all day when one small propane tank exploded. Witnesses say they were doing routine work.

All three were flown by helicopter to nearby hospitals. There's no word yet on their conditions and no comment from Freeman Gas on what might have sparked the explosion.
