Lake Summit Vandals Arrested

Henderson County Sheriff's Office:

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested four vandals for their actions that took place in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 5th.  The vandals were responsible in the damage to eight (8) vehicles, a boat walkway, and to the yard/ landscape of the Zirconia, NC Post Office involving ten separate incidents all of which occurred in the Lake Summit area in southern Henderson County.  The ten separate incidents claimed $12,000 - $20,000 in damages.

After the investigation, Henderson County Sheriff’s Detectives charged the vandals yesterday (Saturday, May 11th) where the four vandals voluntarily surrendered to authorities and were subsequently arrested without further incident.  The four arrested on this incident are:

Butch Levi Heatherly – 19 years of age, of Schoolhouse Road in Mills River was charged with 9 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $ 1,000 secured bond. 

Christopher Garrett Smith - 22 years of age, of Sunset Vista Road in Hendersonville was charged with 9 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and remains in the Henderson County Detention Center under a $ 9,000 secured bond.

Daniel Ray Sumner – 19 years of age, of Rocky Ridge Road in Hendersonville was charged with 10 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $ 1,000 secured bond. 

Garrett Calvin Merrell – 19 years of age, of Yale Road in Hendersonville was charged with 10 Counts of Injury to Real and Personal Property and released after posting a $1,000 secured bond.
