Asheville Toddler Found
A mother from Asheville is still waiting to reunite with her toddler after a frantic search.
News 13 was the first to tell you that a relative brought 16-month-old Jayden Squire to police.
He had been the focus of an Amber Alert since just before 1:00am this morning.
According to the child's mother, little Jayden's father, Russell Squire, took the child after the two got into a fight at their room at Thunderbird Motel last night.
McRae claims Russell grabbed her around the throat and knocked her unconscious.
After the Amber Alert, and hours missing, we're told Squire left the baby with his sister who brought the child to authorities.
Melissa McRae, toddler's mother, "I was very worried... I had no idea what he was doing or who he was with."
Squire's location still unknown, he faces a number of charges including assault.
DSS and Asheville police have been here this morning to talk to the mother.
McRae plans to get a restraining order but right now she's just focused on getting the child back with her.
