Murder Victims Remembered

The man accused of murdering two people in Candler Tuesday made his first court appearance Thursday. 18-year-old Kevin Davis is charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Sandi Thomas and Cliff Dembinski. Their bodies were found inside Thomas's burning home Tuesday. Thomas's great nephew is the man charged with their murders.

Friends of two murder victims say both were kind-hearted people who gave of themselves to help others.  Thomas is a cancer survivor who loved life and her church. But most important, she loved her 15-year-old daughter, Autumn.

Dembinski is also described as a caring person. Friends of both he and Thomas say they are all suffering a tremendous loss.

But they all must now turn their attention Thomas' daughter. Friends say Thomas' daughter was at school when this all happened and she is very upset because she never got to say goodbye to her mother.

A fund has been set up for Autumn Thomas at Sun Trust Bank on Smoky Park Highway.
