Body Recovered from Lake Summit
The body of a Henderson County teen who drowned in Lake Summit has been recovered.
Dive teams were back out on the water early this morning and then just before 3pm this afternoon Tre Cater was pulled to shore.
Crews spent two days trying to get to Carter's body, not only is the lake deep and cold but the visibility in the water is also very poor.
Several dive teams from across Western North Carolina and the Upstate were involved in this recovery effort.
They were able use their technology to locate Carter's body but divers were still unable to reach him.
Today Charlotte's Fire Department was called in to assist.
Their search and rescue teams were able to build of the use of their advance sonar equipment to lead divers to Carter.
His body was brought to shore by Henderson County Rescue Squad.
It will be transported to the medical examiners official for an autopsy.
