Folkmoot brings cultural flavor from around the world to our mountains. North Carolina’s official international festival is under way right now.
For its 30th anniversary, organizers asked Waynesville’s Bearwaters Brewing Company to mix up a special beer that would reflect the cultures of this year's visiting countries.
President Kevin Sandefur says his brew masters came up with a summer-style beer that captures a "world" flavor.
“We put in some American hops and some eastern European hops and some tropical hops, and then we added just a touch of mango to the beer and we came up with a mango German Munich lager."
The special "Folkmoot" beer is a limited release and will be retired when folkmoot ends July 28th.
