Heat Wave Sparks Health Concerns
It finally feels like summer as temperatures hover near dangerous levels. Temperatures in Asheville Thursday topped 85 degrees, but the heat index makes it feel like the mid 90's.
Experts from the Buncombe County Health Department gave some life saving information for people who have to be out in this hot weather. One of the most important tips is to drink plenty of water. Prolonged heat exposure can lead to serious injury, even death if you don't recognize the danger signs.
Evening thunderstorms are expected through this weekend, which could provide some relief from the heat.
