Save Bele Chere
After 35 years, the final Bele Chere festival is this weekend.
Kata Bates of Asheville says she doesn't want it to end.
On Saturday she handed out a thousand fliers that read "Save Bele Chere."
Kata Bates says the festival is part of Asheville history.
Bates says she would like the city to reconsidering cutting off festival funding.
She says thousands of people enjoy Bele Chere every year and she would like to see it continue as a city tradition.
