Portrait of Asheville
A new exhibit at UNC Asheville paints a photographic portrait of Asheville from political activism to street performers. Both color and black and white photos taken by local artist Joe Longobardi are on display in the University's Library. Longobardi says it shows how Asheville is reclaiming its urban history and also demonstrates the diversity of the city's people. The exhibit is called Urban Photography From The Streets of a Bohemian Mountain Town. It will be on display in the Blowers Gallery until September 27th. Longobardi says he hopes to eventually put the images together to create a series of books.
