Aloft Hotel Coming to Greenville
The McKibbon Hotel Group announced plans to build a 144 room Aloft Hotel in the heart of downtown Greenville.
The Starwood Hotel and Resort brand hotel, a vision carrying the DNA of W Hotels, is scheduled to open in early 2015 on Laurens Street facing the newly renovated plaza formerly known as Piazza Bergamo.
Aloft Hotel will offer 144 rooms and feature a rooftop level with amenities including cabana rooms, a fire pit, dog walk and a sun-filled outdoor pool elevated for views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all facing Washington Street.
A second outdoor level will include Aloft's W XYZ bar and caf overlooking the plaza.
"The evolution of downtown Greenville is one of the Southeasts greatest success stories and we are excited to be part of it," said Wes Townson, Vice President, Acquisitions, McKibbon Hotel Group. "Aloft Hotel will bring new excitement to downtown, serving as a one-of-a-kind venue for the city and its visitors and offering a new option for special events and corporate meetings."
"We are thrilled to be working with McKibbon Hotel Group to bring Aloft Hotel to Greenville," said Bob Hughes, President, Hughes Development Corporation. "The hotel fits in well with our leasing strategy of finding high-quality, game changing tenants to supplement Greenville's growing downtown."
Developers say Greenville's Aloft Hotel will boast vibrant, contemporary decor and local art, as well as unique meeting and event spaces.
