Principal Pumpkin

A promise from a principal inspired his students to amp up their efforts to help local families.

Erwin High School principal, Dr. Jim Brown, got all dressed up for school today...in a pumpkin suit.

This morning he made good on his word and dressed in the suit to congratulate the students for setting and reaching their goal of selling 2,000 of the pumpkins to help Eblen Charities. Each pumpkin sells for $1.

Brown said the student government came to him looking for ways to improve the sales from last years roughly 300 pumpkins, and this is the result.

Dr. Jim Brown, Erwin High School Principal says, "I think they learn civic responsibility and about learning to give back to the community to make their community a better place to live."

The students have upped their goal to 3,000, and if they reach it all 4 of the school's assistant principals will take a turn in the pumpkin suit for a day.

They are currently at 2,400.
