Charter Going Digital
If you're a Charter cable customer, you may need to get some new hardware. Charter plans to switch to all digital channels.
Starting on October 1st and rolling out across the mountains and the Upstate through the end of the year, Charter customers will need a cable box for every television in the home where they want to watch cable channels.
Customers can go into the Charter store to get their new boxes or have them sent to their homes.
The boxes will be sent free and there is no cost for shipping, and Charter will provide self-installation instructions and a 24/7 telephone support line for anyone who needs help connecting the box.
Customers will have to pay to rent the boxes on a monthly basis, but the price will differ for each customer based on their cable package.
Charter says they are in the process of sending those offers to customers right now.
Depending on where you live, some of your channels may change as well.
In some areas where News13 is currently on channel 3, it will move to channel 13.
