Ghost Town Open Through October
Ghost Town in the Sky is hoping to cash in on visitors coming to see Fall leaves.
The Maggie Valley amusement park opened this summer for the first time in years. Owner Alaska Presley faced many obstacles including a state requirement to build an emergency road under the chairlift. There were also delays from rain and getting rides inspected.
Still, Presley says the ground level, and the Western town, are in good shape. And now she's focused on getting the Holy Land themed, Inspiration Mountain ready at the top of the mountain.
We're ready for the last phase, hope we can get by next year, hopefully we might be able to get the cross up. But it will, it will go forward, says Presley.
She says Ghost Town will be open for the remainder of October, then close until April.
