Campers Ready For Black Friday Sales
Whether it's Black Friday or Brown Thursday, this is expected to be a huge weekend of retail bargains.
Many big box stores are launching those sales right after supper on Thanksgiving Day.
At Best Buy in Asheville, some set up a tent and a few chairs Tuesday for the expected price slashes. On a sub-freezing day, the sight gave many people the chills.
"Is someone living in that blue tent there?" asks one customer.
"I don't feel like waiting a line in this weather," one boy tells us. He's among the people we spoke to who think camping is obsolete these days.
"There's not enough money in the world," adds another shopper.
"That's a little over the top, it's just stuff." says another man. "The holidays are all about family."
Being with family seemed like Paul Wainright's intention. His sister is one of the campers, though she was nowhere to be found when we arrived at Best Buy.
Paul was watching the tent for his sister Anika, while she ran errands.
And with so many people wondering what she's thinking camping out there.
"I'm wondering the same thing, because to me it's not worth it," says Paul.
"It's become a ritual," he tells us. "She does it as an adrenaline rush."
This weekend, she won't be alone. There will be many campers crowding storefronts all across America.
Best Buy starts its Black Friday sales on Thursday at 6 p.m.
