Up For Auction
Extreme circumstances lead to the auction of a Christmas collection. The pieces are at a hub of holiday joy in Asheville.
Holiday spirit emanates from the 1917 home on Evelyn Place. Barbara Hodson created this holiday wonderland, which is why so many called it the Christmas house.
"Christmas became year round in 2000 for us. It was too hard for my mom to put them up and down," said Suzanne Molloy, Hodson's daughter.
Suzanne says Barbara and husband Dennis have decided to downsize by putting their house on the market and auctioning off that vast inventory. A portion of the auction proceeds goes to Asheville Sister Cities and Friends of Connect Buncombe.
Barbara is battling brain cancer.
"She's had surgery, and had chemo and radiation and is doing quite well. She's a very strong woman," said Molloy.
The auction will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. at the home on Evelyn Place.
