Reaction To Super Typhoon
An Arden mother and daughter, originally from the Philippines, are keeping a close eye on Super Typhoon Haiyan. Marietta Cocuzza and Meira Padilla are scheduled to fly to Manilla on Tuesday. They plan to reunite with family and friends, and stay through the holidays. But now, Haiyan, one of the strongest storms on record, may delay their flight.
Marietta says while she's heard from her family in Manilla, she remains concerned, since the impact of the super-typhoon is far from over. At least four people died, and entire provinces have lost power since Haiyan made landfall. Meira reminds us that many Philippinos were still recovering from a major earthquake when the typhoon hit.
It's been three years since the mom and daughter have been to their home country. They say all they want to do is hug their family and enjoy the holidays with them.
