UPDATE: Spindale Shooting
Police have now charged the father of the 14-year-old boy who allegedly fired a shotgun into a home full of his classmates Sunday.
Charles McDowell is charged with failure to store the shotgun properly and possession of a firearm by a felon.
The shooting in Spindale sent one teen to the hospital and McDowell's son to jail.
Police say around 5:00pm Sunday, a 14-year-old showed up at a home on Johnson Street with a single-barrel shotgun.
They say he got into an argument with several people and tried to break down the door.
When he couldn't get in, police say he fired the weapon into a window.
A 16-year-old was hit in the arm and torso. He was taken to Rutherford Regional Hospital, then transferred to Mission.
Police say he has serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody when his father brought him back to the scene and turned him over to police.
He's charged with attempted murder.
