New Police Motorcycle

The Hendersonville Police Department is sporting a new ride to help promote safety. They just received a new 2014 Harley Davidson Electraglide. The $30,000 motorcycle was paid for by the governor's Highway Safety Program. The program also funds Bike Safe, which allows anyone stopped for a motorcycle citation in Henderson County to get a break.

"Any offense other than DWI or driving while licensed revoked they can come take our Bike Safe NC course which is an educational motorcycle safety course  and have that citation dismissed through the DA's office," said Lt. Mike Vesely of the Hendersonville Police Department.

The diversionary program is only available in Henderson County and the Bike Safe course is free.
