Homeless Housing Proposed
A proposed facility would give more homeless families a place to turn. ABCCM is raising money for a project they call Transformation Village. It would be a motel-style site and would house 150 to 200 women and children.
ABCCM currently operates a transitional home called Steadfast House, but the waiting list is nearly 200 people.
"We have the programs and the ability to work with them so that they can get education and jobs, and homes and apartments. They can go on and be self sustaining and self supporting," said Steadfast House director Mary Sczudlo.
Transformation Village is expected to cost between $4 million and $5 million.
