The 25th annual Warren Haynes Christmas Jam kicked off at the U.S. Cellular Center in downtown Asheville Friday night. The event helps fund Habitat For Humanity.
The jam was started in 1989 by Warren Haynes, an Asheville native and guitarist for the band The Allman Brothers. Haynes says he had no idea it would become a tradition back then.
This year, the show is bigger and better then ever. Headliners include Grace Potter, Greg Allman, and Widespread Panic. Haynes says he keeps show fresh by adding new artists to the lineup.
The Christmas Jam sold out in just a few weeks. The show runs Friday and Saturday night.
