Family Wins NYC Trip To Say "Good Riddance"
At the end of a terrible 2013, A Hendersonville family has something to smile about. The Johnson's have won a trip to New York City and arrived Friday morning.
The story of three year-old Bodey topped two thousand online entries for the "Good Riddance Day" contest.
Bodey was diagnosed with a tumor in his kidney, and had seven months of chemo. He was born with Down Syndrome and had heart surgery at the age of one. We spoke to the family via Facetime today.
"We've had so much support from family and people we don't even know," says Amy Johnson. "Bodey's just touched so many people's lives. And so many have been inspired to share his story."
The Good Riddance Day event is Saturday. The Johnsons plan to shred a cat-scan and some paid medical bills. They'll also be in town for the Times Square ball drop on new year's eve.
