Christmas Gifts For Foster Kids Stolen
A thief made off with Christmas presents meant for foster kids in Asheville. The theft happened sometime late Thursday or early Friday, at an office at 107 Merrimon Avenue.
A sponsor purchased the gifts and left them at Sheila McKeon's office, who is the kids' therapist. McKeon says when she arrived at work Friday morning, the presents were gone. She says these gifts were the only ones the kids were going to receive this year. She says it's very disheartening someone stole from children who have nothing.
McKeon says the gifts were for two 11-year-old girls and an 8-year-old boy. She says several other foster children also need presents this holiday season.
